We've all found a bargain that seemed too good to miss, only for it to sit unworn in our wardrobe for months. Sometimes, the best finds are the pieces we take our time choosing, knowing we'll love and wear them for years to come. It's a little bit overwhelming, isn't it?
What if, instead of buying more this Black Friday, we gave back more than we bought?
That's the idea behind Takeback Friday, our annual campaign challenging overconsumption and encouraging everyone to think a little differently about the clothes they already own.
We've all found a bargain that seemed too good to miss, only for it to sit unworn in our wardrobe for months. Sometimes, the best finds are the pieces we take our time choosing, knowing we'll love and wear them for years to come.
So this Black Friday, before you start adding things to your basket, we're asking you to have a little look at what's already in your wardrobe.
You might be surprised by what you find. And chances are, there's plenty in there that's ready for another outing (or a whole new home).
We all love a bargain. And there's nothing wrong with finding something you've had your eye on at a brilliant price.
But somewhere along the way, Black Friday has turned into a shopping event that makes us feel like we're missing out if we're not buying at least something.
Suddenly, that jacket you didn't need yesterday becomes irresistible at 40% off. The trainers you hadn't thought about buying are in your basket. And before you know it, you've spent £150 on things that weren't even on your radar last week.
And while a few impulse purchases might not seem like that big a deal, when millions of us are doing the same thing, it adds up. FAST.
According to WRAP's 2025 UK Textiles Pact report, the fashion industry is making progress in reducing the environmental impact of individual garments. The problem is, we're producing so many clothes that the industry's overall environmental footprint is still growing.
Meanwhile, reuse and recycling organisations handled 210,000 tonnes of used textiles in 2024, showing just how much clothing is already making its way through the circular economy.
And all those new clothes take resources, energy and water to produce. So when we're buying things we don't really need, wearing them a handful of times and eventually throwing them away, we're wasting a lot more than just money.
Of course, Black Friday isn't responsible for all of this. But the constant push to buy more, buy quickly and grab a bargain before it's gone certainly doesn't help.
So this November, we're proposing something different.
Before you add another thing to your basket, open your wardrobe, and take a minute to really look at what’s inside.
That dress you wore once to a wedding. The jeans that haven't fitted quite right for years. The jumper you loved two winters ago but haven't reached for since. And the rest.
There's probably a whole collection of perfectly good clothes sitting there, waiting for another chance to be worn. And while they might not be right for you anymore, they could be exactly what someone else is looking for.
Enter - Takeback Friday.
Instead of letting all those perfectly good clothes gather dust, we want to help you get them back into circulation. When we keep clothes in use for longer, we’re making better use of all the resources that went into producing them in the first place.
This November, we're challenging Black Friday. Instead of buying more, we're asking you to have a good look at what you've already got.
You know those clothes sitting at the back of your wardrobe that you haven't worn in years? The things that no longer fit, aren't really your style anymore, or have simply had their time? Well, now's a pretty good time to do something with them.
Have a clear-out, make a pile of everything you're ready to part with, and send it back through one of our takeback programmes.
We work with some of your favourite brands, including TALA, Finisterre, Oliver Bonas, Urban Outfitters and Sweaty Betty, plus so many more. All you need to do is sort your unwanted pieces by brand, register your takebacks and package them up. And for anything that doesn't fit one of our brand partners' programmes, you can use the Reskinned Takeback Programme instead.
Once your clothes reach us, our team sorts through every piece to work out what happens next.
Anything that can be worn again is cleaned, repaired where needed and made ready for a new home. And for clothes that have reached the end of their wearable life, we look for responsible recycling solutions to keep as much material in circulation as possible.
And here's a little extra incentive.
When you return eligible clothing through one of our participating brand takeback programmes, you'll receive a reward voucher to spend with that brand.
Plus, for every eligible takeback you complete between 1 and 30 November 2026, we'll give you an additional £15 voucher to spend on Reskinned.
That's a pretty good reason to finally tackle that wardrobe clear-out you've been putting off.

Now, here's where we're doing things a little bit differently.
Instead of giving you a voucher that expires at midnight on Cyber Monday, your £15 Reskinned voucher is valid for 12 whole months.
Yes, an entire year.
Look, sometimes you do actually need to buy new things. And when that happens, we think shopping pre-loved is a pretty brilliant place to start.
But we don't think you should have to rush into buying something just because there's a discount on offer.
Whether you're looking for a winter coat, a pair of jeans or something special for an occasion six months from now, you've got plenty of time to find something you'll actually love and wear.
And with pre-loved pieces from your favourite brands, including archive finds, sold-out styles and one-of-a-kind discoveries, there's plenty worth waiting for.
So take your time. Have a browse when you fancy it. And use your voucher when you find something you really want.
Your £15 voucher is valid for 12 months on orders over £35.

There’s no rush!
Imagine if, instead of spending Black Friday buying more clothes, we spent it clearing out the ones we no longer wear and giving them a new home.
Think how many perfectly good pieces could make their way back into circulation, rather than sitting forgotten in wardrobes or eventually ending up in the bin.
We're not saying you should never buy anything new again. We know that's not realistic. But we do think it's worth asking yourself whether you really need something before buying it, how often you'll wear it and what you'll do with it when you no longer want it.
And if you've got clothes you're ready to part with, please don't leave them sitting in a bag at the back of your wardrobe for another six months. Send them our way. We'll help find a use for them.
This Black Friday, buy less, wear more and give your old clothes another chance.
